Project: Uranium Marble Ring Oscillator Pendant
What does it do? It glows blue.
Well, actually, it glows blue/violet-ish and has has a rotating beam of radioactive green looking light in the middle. As a special present for my mother I made an advanced version of a Uranium Marble Ring Oscillator pendant. For those scared by the word “uranium”: rest assured, there is no danger to the wearer of this pendant whatsoever. The traces of uranium are only important because of it’s UV-fluorescent nature. But don’t simply take my word for it, here’s the SCIENCE! Pictures below. (Btw. the silver & copper coloured pearls spell out a personal message in ASCII binary.)
Once again, thanks to Edinburgh Hacklab, a place full of inspirations and happy people (and awesome gear!).
